1926
R. Stanley Preston founded Preston’s Stationery. Originally located on Main Street directly across from the Court House, Preston’s was in the center of Bel Air for over 42 years. At the time, Preston’s offered magazines and newspapers, cigarettes, tobacco products, guitar strings and shoelaces. R. Stanley Preston carried these products to get the company through the Depression.

1946
Donald S. Preston joins the firm and expands Preston’s social stationery to include wedding invitations.

1968
As the business boomed from sales in office furniture and other supplies, Donald S. Preston purchased property on South Main Street to accommodate to the demand. This is now our present location.

1972
Robert Preston joins the firm during a period of tremendous growth providing office machines and furniture along with office supplies for a growing number of businesses in the County. During this time, Preston’s began building their niche in the community for greeting cards, social stationery and wedding stationery.

1976
Preston’s Stationery expands its building at 319 South Main Street.

1980
Susan Preston, Robert Preston’s wife, joins the firm.

1990s
Kimberly Preston-Bond joins the firm, and with the help of her mother Susan, she helps refine the new niche that Preston’s currently specializes in: custom invitations.

Today
Preston’s Stationery specializes in custom invitations, fine papers, and wedding stationery.
